Agnes Gray Owens

Mrs. Agnes Elva Gray Owens, age 95, of Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Ascension St. Thomas Three Rivers Hospital, in Waverly, Tennessee. Mrs. Owens was born April 7, 1929, in Brownsville, South Carolina, to Zannie Lee Gray and Lorena Hood Gray.

Mrs. Owens was a graduate of South Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 38 years and retired from Three Rivers Hospital in 1994. She was an avid seamstress, gardener, and loved all kinds of flowers. She loved quilting and quilted over 100 quilts and pieced many of them over the years. She enjoyed playing the piano and cooking for her loving family.

Visitation: will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Merideth officiating.

Interment: will follow in Jones-Owens-Mayberry Cemetery in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
