Ann was born on September 9, 1930 in Beverly Hills, California to the late John Raymond Vincent Hart and Amelia Victoria Bergman Hart. She was a graduate of Beverly Hills High School and attended Los Angeles City College. She proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Medical Technician Seaman. She moved to New Johnsonville in 1958 where she was a wife and mother to five children: Victoria Lee (Frank) Ross Bechet of Spring Hill, TN; Terri Lynn (Jim) Ross Twyford of Dallas, GA; Stephanie (Barry) Ross Maasen of New Johnsonville, TN; George Hewes (Marti) Ross III of Niceville, FL; and John Patrick Ross of Nashville, TN. Ann proudly worked for many years as a Red Cross volunteer and water safety instructor at both Waverly and Camden city pools, and also instructed national level classes at the Red Cross Aquatic Schools in Florida. In addition, she served on the New Johnsonville city council, worked at the WVRY radio station as an ad salesperson, was a voracious reader, bred champion Standard Poodles, decorated birthday and wedding cakes for area residents, was an excellent cook and gracious hostess extraordinaire, played duplicate Bridge at a nationally-ranked master level, was a gifted artist working in paint and pastels, and was a charter member and president of the GFWC New Johnsonville Women’s Club, serving the Federation not only locally, but also on District and State leadership positions. She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in New Johnsonville. Ann enjoyed nothing better than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, introducing them to the joys of fine arts, the outdoors and nature, her flower garden, and views of her beloved Kentucky Lake. She is survived by her children, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation with the Ross family was on February 26, 2017 at the Humphreys County Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Humphreys County Humane Society, Meals on Wheels, or the donation of their choice.
