Mr. Avon Eugene Curtis, Sr., age: 84 Of: Waverly, TN Died: Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his home. He was born January 9, 1934 in Iuka, MS. Mr. Curtis served in the United States Navy from 1956 – 1958. After his enlistment, he went to work for TVA and retired after 34 years. Mr. Curtis later worked as a Guard for Piney Resort from 1996 – 2002 and later as a Bus Driver for Tishomingo County School Department from 2002 – 2008. He served as a member of the Tishomingo Water Board from 2002 – 2004. Above all, Mr. Curtis loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Visitation: will be held from 10:00am until service time Monday, July 2nd at Humphreys County Funeral Home. Funeral Services: for Mr. Curtis will be conducted at 12:00 noon Monday, July 2nd from the Chapel of Humphreys County Funeral Home with Darin Jensen and Loren Spellman officiating. Interment: will be held at 4:00pm Monday, July 2nd at Oak Grove Cemetery in Iuka, MS with Charles Vaughn and Don Barber officiating.
