Mrs. Betsy Hall Hickman, of Waverly, TN, passed away on October 26, 2017, at the young age of 90. Betsy was a native of Waverly, TN born August 20, 1927, and graduated from WCHS in 1946. She retired from Arnold Engineering Development Center where she was a switchboard operator. She also managed Pappy’s BBQ in Manchester, TN. Mrs. Hickman returned to Waverly in 1981 to spend more time with family. She enjoyed work and was able to be a caretaker for the elderly, an assistant in Dr. Claude Jamison’s dental office, and also worked for several years with Ted at Nature’s Designs. Mrs. Hickman then spent several years caring for her husband, Reuben Hickman, of 64 years. After his passing, she spent her time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other friends and family members. Mrs. Hickman loved to work in her yard, bake and have lunch with the ladies from Waverly United Methodist Church where she was a member. Betsy was a beloved member of this community. She loved life and was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Hickman’s wishes were for cremation. Visitation: will be held from 2:00 – 8:00pm Saturday, October 28th and from 12:00pm until service time Sunday, October 29th at Humphreys County Funeral Home. Memorial Services: for Mrs. Hickman will be conducted at 2:00pm Sunday, October 29th in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thad Collier officiating.
