Bettie Gail McMurtry

Mrs. Bettie Gail McMurtry, age 90 of Waverly, TN, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, at AHC Waverly. She was born December 24, 1933, in Binghamton, NY to Leland VanDuzer, Sr. and Hazel Greene VanDuzer.

Mrs. McMurtry was a member of the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking/baking, and playing Fantasy Football. She was also an avid Raiders Football fan.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until service time Wednesday, October 2nd at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. McMurtry will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Burns, Sr. officiating. 

Interment will follow in Bakerville Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to your local Humane Society or Animal Shelter in memory of Mrs. Bettie.
