Mr. Billy Gene Bell, age 88

Of Waverly, TN passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Three Rivers Hospital. He was born August 26, 1935, in Waverly, TN.

Billy dedicated 32 years of his life to DuPont, where he worked tirelessly before retiring in 1993. His commitment and work ethic were unwavering, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
 
In addition to his successful career, Billy also served his country with honor as an Army Veteran. His bravery and dedication to serving others reflected the true essence of his character.

Billy was a dedicated member of the McEwen Freewill Baptist Church, where he selflessly served in various church offices, taught Sunday school classes with passion and wisdom, and lifted spirits with his uplifting voice in leading the congregation in song. His commitment to his church family was unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed within the walls of the church where he shared so much of himself over the years.

Throughout his life, Billy exemplified the values of fellowship and service, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His contributions to the Cotton Valley Masonic Lodge were profound, reflecting his commitment to helping others and building a strong sense of camaraderie within the community.

Billy found joy in the simple pleasures of fishing, hunting, and coaching baseball. These activities brought him peace and moments of contentment in the great outdoors. However, beyond his hobbies, Billy's proudest accomplishments were not defined by his pastimes but by the love and dedication he showed to his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a doting grandfather, and even a proud great grandfather. His legacy lives on through the generations he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and warmth.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am until service time Thursday, April 11^th at Humphreys County Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services for Mr. Bell will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday, April 11, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Lovitt officiating. 

Interment will follow in Wyly Cemetery with Military Honors.
