Billy Wayne Forrester, age 67 of Waverly, TN, fell asleep in death Saturday, June 22, 2024, with his wife, Rita by his side.
Billy was born April 4, 1957, in Lubbock, Texas to Don and Ouida Forrester. The family moved to Waverly, Tennessee around 1977. Billy met and married Rita Bell Scurlock on July 25, 1978. They welcomed two sons to their family.
Rita came in contact with Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1981 and Billy soon joined her in a study of the Bible. Billy loved learning about Jehovah God and his promises for a better future right here on earth. Billy was most proud of his dedication to serving Jehovah. He loved telling others about the wonderful hope he had of living forever on a paradise earth and a resurrection of the dead. This hope in the future meant even more to him when his sons fell asleep in death. He knew Jehovah would reunite his family with him.
Billy was a man of many talents and did whatever it took to support his family and be a help to any around him who needed a hand. He loved nature, so in his free time, he could be found exploring the local watering holes in search of the perfect catch. He was a member of the West Tennessee Bass Yakkers and the Kayak & Bass Fishing Association.
Billy left a significant mark on those that had the pleasure of knowing him. His health failed him, but he was comforted knowing that he would be safe in Jehovah’s memory. He had faith in the resurrection and knew he would see his family and friends again.
Billy is survived by his wife Rita Scurlock Forrester of Waverly, TN; twin brother Bobby Forrester (fiancée: Yolanda) of South Carolina; brother David Franklin Forrester (Melissa) of Jackson, TN; sister Patty Gail Forrester Stewart (Scott Lutts) of Waverly, TN; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sons, John Wayne Forrester and Jordan Winchester Forrester; parents, Charles and Ouida Worley Forrester; and brother, Gary “Pud” Forrester.
Mr. Forrester’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00pm Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waverly.
