C.A. was born on a farm near New Holland, SD. He was drafted into the army in 1952 during the Korean war. After basic training he served eighteen months in Alaska. Upon returning home he married Jeanette Dyk. For ten years they farmed near Corsica, SD then moved to Mitchell, SD where he worked as a welder. They then moved their family to Lubbock, Texas where C.A. attended and graduated from the Sunset School of Preaching. He and Jeanette were very active in the work of the Church of Christ for numerous years in both Iowa and Tennessee. They started a Bible correspondence work and sent out and graded tens of thousands of courses spreading the good news of Christ. C.A. is the author of the book "Calvinism in the Light of God's Word" which is used in Bible Schools around the world. In 1974 the family moved to Waverly, TN where C.A. was a distributor for R.C. Cola. After retiring from the drink business, he drove a public transportation van for several years. He was a faithful and active member of the Church of Christ in Waverly, McEwen, and Oak Avenue in Dickson. He loved to be outdoors and watch nature unfold and for numerous years he planted a huge tomato garden. He also loved replanting the daffodil bulbs and seeing them bloom all over his yard in February and March. Warm weather also brought many birds to the houses he built for them. He was a loving husband and father to his children and "Grandpa" to his grandchildren.
