Dallas Lee Hudson

February 24, 1924 — October 13, 2023

Dickson

Dallas Lee Hudson of Dickson Tn also lovingly known as "DL", "Papaw" and "Uncle Brother" was born 2-24-24 and passed away on Friday evening Oct 13, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends. Dallas was just a few months shy of his 100th birthday.

He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Jenell Hudson who passed away April 4, 2003, his parents Ezra and Annie Hudson of McEwen, Tn., his sister Thelma Long of McEwen Tn, his brother Talmadge Hudson of Clarksville Tn, his nephews Richard Hudson and Jerry Long, and his niece Dean Smothers.

Dallas and Doris married in 1952 and are survived by their son Gary Lee Hudson (Christal) of Dickson, 4 grandchildren: Jessica Rose (Jonathon) of Spring City, Tn., Katelyn Hudson, Lezlee Hudson, and Jordan Hudson all of Dickson, nephews: Charles Hudson, Jimmy Long, Kelvin Street, and Kerry Street, and nieces: Brenda Hudson and Jean Buttrey.

For the last 35 years Dallas and Doris' home was the meeting place on Sunday mornings for fellowship services and for Wednesday night Bible Studies. Dallas was a Navy veteran of WWII and served on the ship The USS Manning and a graduate from McEwen High School in 1942. Last year an article was written about his life as a war vet in the Dickson Herald.

Dallas was a man of faith and lived his life fully preparing for this day to meet his Lord and Savior. His wonderful testimony will be fondly remembered by the many who knew him. Dallas was a loving father and grandfather and many describe him as a quiet, kind and gentle man who loved to laugh and reminisce about his younger years.

Memorial service for Mr. Hudson will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM at Spann Funeral Home.
