Danielle M. Laurent

Danielle Laurent, age 63, daughter of the late Gerard and Lola Laurent of New Johnsonville, ended her human experience on Thursday, March 7, 2024, after a life-long struggle with several mental and physical challenges.  At birth, her parents were told she would not survive more than 4 – 5 years.  But due to the love of her family, and the care and attention of many others in her adult life, Danielle thrived.  Danielle brought joy to everyone she encountered and rested peacefully before continuing her spiritual existence.  She is welcomed into the spiritual world by her parents, Gerard and Lola, her sister Jackie, her grandparents, and all those family members who preceded her in this journey.  Do not weep for Danielle as now God has “wiped away all tears from her eyes, and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things have now passed away".

Danielle is missed by her only brother, Captain Christopher Laurent, US Navy (retired) and wife Donna of Longboat Key, FL, sisters Patricia Hemby and husband Ronnie, of Sylacauga, AL and Emilie Hagan and partner Billy, of Dickson, TN, and numerous nephews and nieces.  

The family would like to thank Katie Powers and the Developmental Services of Dickson for all their support and love for Danielle and the family over these many years. And to the DSP/Nursing staff and Bernice who cared for Danielle as if she were one of their own children. There is a special place for these individuals who shared so much of their heart with Danielle and the family will forever be grateful.  

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in New Johnsonville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Danielle’s name be made to The ARC of Tennessee.
