We come together to celebrate the life of a wonderful woman, Doris Stokes, who was called home on June 16, 2024. Doris was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was of deep faith and found comfort in the Lord’s church. She continually prayed for her family and the wellbeing of others. No matter the hardships of her life she remained having a thankful heart for God’s grace and love. The beauty of Jesus could always be seen in her life.
Doris was the center of any family gathering. She made every meal a feast that none could match. Doris won ribbons for her decorated cakes. She enjoyed countless puzzles, painting, and delighted her grandchildren playing rummy and remained unbeatable. She poured her whole heart into creating remarkable short stories and poems that reflected her life experiences. Her favorite time was spent on her porch swing beside her much loved poodle Carmella and Ruby the grandpuppy she adored.
As we remember Doris, let us strive to honor her life by embodying the virtues she cherished and lived by.
