Mrs. Dorothy May Jared McMillan, age 95, of McEwen, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 1, 1929, to James Aruther and Ova Shanks Jared in McEwen, Tennessee. She was married to George Talmage McMillan. Mrs. McMillan was a member of First Baptist Church of McEwen and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class. She loved cooking and especially canning. She loved traveling with Shockey Tours and had visited all 50 states and Canada.

“Memaw’s love is a little bit parent, and a little bit best friend. Memaw was always giving us parenting advice, teaching us many life lessons, but most importantly, she was always there to be our best friend. She taught so many how to cook, ride bikes, how to drive, and how to be kind, and love with everything. She always welcomed anyone with open arms and a smile on her face. She was one of a kind. She was the best mom, sister, Memaw to many grandkids and great grandkids, and friend to anyone she would meet. She had the most infectious laugh, loved with all her heart, and was loved by everyone. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Humphreys County Funeral Home with her nephews, Rev. Gary Jared and Bro. William Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in McEwen Cemetery in McEwen, Tennessee.
