Mr. Douglas Gene Mitchell, age 93, of Waverly, TN left this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2024, after an extended illness. He was born July 12, 1930, in Waverly, TN.

Mr. Mitchell was a talented musician and songwriter. Along with his band, The Tennessee Wranglers, he entertained people for many years at local square dances, nursing homes, churches, and The Tennessee Valley Jamboree. 

Mr. Mitchell loved people and never met a stranger. Married to his loving wife, Charlotte, for 44 years, they shared many happy moments and made many friends. He was a member of the House of Prayer in McEwen and loved his church and church family dearly.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am until service time Monday, January 22nd at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Mitchell will be conducted at 2:00pm Monday, January 22, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Curtis officiating.

Interment will follow in Richlawn Cemetery.
