Earl Elton Watson, age 88, of McEwen, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Humphreys County Nursing Home, in Waverly, Tennessee. Mr. Watson was born June 18, 1936, in Sidney, Ohio, to Clarence Earl and Ruth Reeves Watson. He was married to the late Hazel Pauline Daniel Watson. Elton Watson was a member of Christ Community Church in McEwen, Tennessee. He was a retired Tooling Inspector after 34 years of service for AVCO Aerostructures in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a major coupon shopper and would always share his great deals with others. He loved the Great Smoky Mountains, attending the National Quartet Conventions, and any Southern Gospel Music Concerts. He loved going every year to the Gaither Family Fest. He also loved Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and would take his family on vacation there every year when Pat and Paul were younger. He truly enjoyed his job at AVCO. He was a member of McEwen Senior Center and was the unofficial “dishwasher” for the group. He loved playing cards and spending time with his many friends there. Elton was a perfectionist at every task he would undertake. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation: will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., in Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mark Beecham will be officiating the service.
Interment: will follow in Chalk Hill Cemetery in Camden, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ Community Church in McEwen, Tennessee. You may leave your donations at Humphreys County Funeral Home and we will gladly forward them for you.
