Effie Lavenia LaCour Cook

Effie Lavenia LaCour Cook, 96, was born on March 28, 1922 at Natchitoches, LA and passed away on March 12, 2019 at The Neighborhood at Tellico Village, Loudon, TN. She was previously a resident of Knoxville and Fairview, TN. The family will receive friends between 9-11 CDT on March 23 at Spann Funeral Home in Dickson. TN and a service will be held at 11 am CDT following visitation. Effie was a Godly woman and the wife of Dewey B Cook, Jr. (deceased), mother of Janet C. brock, Knoxville, TN, grandmother of Michael LeConte Brock (Amanda), and great grandmother of Denver, Lucas and Emmaline Brock, all of Maryville, TN. She was predeceased by her mother, father, three sisters and a brother. She is also survived by her “second daughter”, Betty Lehr, Louisville, KY, sister-in-law and brother-in-law of Rio Rancho NM, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A special thanks goes to the staff and caregivers at The Neighborhood at Tellico Village who cared for her. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First Baptist Church, Dickson, or the Wounded Warrior Project. She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
