Eleanor Frances Dudley, 77, of Burns, Tennessee passed away in her home on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. She was born on February 22, 1943 in Holdridge, Nebraska where she lived until she married in a whirlwind romance to Cecil Dudley that lasted until his passing in 2006. She traveled with Cecil, raising a family, until he retired from the United States Navy, finally settling at their longtime family property in Burns, Tennessee. She had a passion for gardening that kept her outside doing what she loved; planting flowers, tending her garden and watching God’s miracles grow. She enjoyed canning and freezing the fruits of her labor.
She spent many years in the culinary field where she specialized in baking. She passed on her love of cooking to her children and grandchildren.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Denece Dudley, Bill (Jenny) Dudley, Kristina (Neil) Arturi, and Sheryl (Phil) Robinson. She adored her five grandchildren; Alexa Arturi, Arabella Guire, Liam Arturi, Amelia Arturi, and Lilly Robinson.
She was the daughter of Bernhard and Christine Peterson. She had five brothers and one sister; George Peterson, Lawrence Peterson, Doris Waggoner, Donald Peterson, Daniel Peterson, and Kenneth Peterson.
She was longtime member of Dickson First United Methodist Church where she spent countless hours volunteering to help serve the congregation and the community.
Services will be held on Friday August 28, 2020 at Empowered Ministries Church in Dickson, 119 West Christi Drive, Dickson, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm with the memorial service following at 5:00pm. Bishop Mike Jennette will be officiating.
