Eleonora Mary Brackett Olson August 17, 1948 ~ February 12, 2018 Eleonora, known as “Nora” to her family and friends, passed away on February 12, 2018, she was 69 years old. Nora was born on August 17, 1948 in Vienna, Austria. She was a retired nurse and always available to help anyone. Her dedicated work involved hospitals, nursing homes, and the jail systems in the states of New Hampshire and Oregon. She always said that it is very true to listen to your elders and senior population for they have great knowledge that can be learned and applied to everyone. Nora was always ready to learn new things outside of the nursing field. She did this by doing some short order cooking, baking, seed company customer sales and service, relief postmaster, appliance sales, sold Petra fashions, companion care and helped teenage boys to hunt safely. She belonged to many organizations. She was a member of the McEwen Senior Citizens Center, her church at Wildwood Valley Church of Christ, past noble grand of IOOF Rebekanis of Larane, Oregon, involved with the Girl Scouts in Oregon, the Boy Scouts of New Hampshire, and was V.P. of the Goffstown Mother’s Club in New Hampshire. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary of South Paris, Maine. Mrs. Olson trained many staff members in fire safety, proper body mechanics and OSHA. Preceding her in death was her mother, Eleonora Pfannenschwarz Brackett; husband of 33 years, Robert A. Olson; and brother, Robert C. Brackett. Mrs. Olson is survived by her brother, William E. Brackett and his wife, Linda D. of McEwen, TN; nephews, Robbie Brackett and his fiancée, Rhiann of South Paris, ME and William M. Brackett (Shelly) of Maine; niece, Rebecca Edwards (Scott) of Maine; great nephews, River Blane Brackett, Ryder Michael Brackett, Ethan Edwards and Colin Edwards, all of Maine; many cousins and a million friends. Nora’s wishes were to be cremated so there would possibly be more ground to grow healthy vegetables for all the hungry children. She always said no child should be hungry or go without shoes. A memorial service will be held at the Wildwood Valley Church of Christ in Hurricane Mills, TN at a later date. “Shed no tears for me for I have been truly Blessed.” Arrangements by the Humphreys County Funeral Home (931) 296-5955
