Mr. Floyd Lamar Dickey, age 78 Of Waverly, TN passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at his home. He was born January 2, 1947, in San Antonio, TX to Lamar and Ruby Dickey.
Proudly serving his nation, Floyd dedicated a significant chapter of his life to the military. He enlisted in the Navy, where he exhibited remarkable valor while completing three tours in Vietnam. His service to his country was not just a duty, but rather a profound expression of his dedication to the ideals of freedom and justice. Throughout his life, Floyd remained connected to this rich legacy, becoming a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), through which he strengthened bonds with fellow veterans who shared similar experiences.
Outside of his military service, Floyd was also an active member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), reflecting his passion for responsible gun ownership and outdoor activities. He found joy in the simplicity of life and held dear the camaraderie that could be found in shared interests.
Floyd’s legacy will be remembered not only through his service but also through the values he lived by. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mr. Dickey’s wishes were to be cremated.
