Mr. James Robert “Jim” Bell, age 77
Of Waverly, TN passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, at his home. He was born May 14, 1947, in Chicago, IL.
Jim worked for the Chicago Transit Authority as a Dispatcher for the bus garages, where his precision and efficiency earned him the respect of his colleagues. Later, upon relocating to Tennessee, he dedicated 22 years of his life to the Sanitation Department in Humphreys County, where he continued to make a positive impact in his community.
Jim lived a life filled with love for the South, finding beauty in its landscapes and kindness in its people. He was known for his love of collecting Civil War artifacts, a treasure of historical items that spoke to his deep appreciation for the past. His enthusiasm for stock car racing brought thrill and excitement to his days, fueling his competitive spirit and zest for life. Beyond these interests, music held a special place in Jim's heart, resonating with him in ways that words could not express.
As we mourn the loss of Jim, let us also celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the profound impact he had on those around him. May his spirit continue to inspire us, his memory continue to comfort us, and his legacy continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Mr. Bell’s wishes were to be cremated.
