James Lee Jackson

Emblem

James Lee Jackson, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, left this world on January 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family at his home. Born on June 6, 1947, in Vanleer, TN, James was the son of the late Howard and Lorene Lee Jackson.

A proud graduate of Charlotte High School, James served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy before dedicating many years of his life to his work at Dickson Electric, from which he eventually retired.

Family was the cornerstone of James' life. He found his greatest joy being known as “PawPaw” of his grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life. Their laughter and love lit up his world. He was known for his adventurous spirit, often expressing his love for riding on the back roads by his saying he had "itchy feet." He savored the simple pleasures of life, whether it was drinking coffee on the front porch while watching deer roam or getting lost in the pages of a good book.

James had a passion for music and movies, enjoying a wide variety of genres. He loved to immerse himself in marathons of his favorite television shows, particularly relishing the challenge of solving mysteries alongside the show on "The First 48."

His enthusiasm for sports was unmatched, with orange blood running through his veins as a lifelong fan of the University of Tennessee. James could recount statistics, names, and pivotal moments from countless games, embracing rivalries with fans of Alabama and Florida alike, all while proudly wearing his UT colors.

He shared a wonderful 37-year marriage with his beloved wife, Diane Jackson, who passed away in 2008. Their bond was one of deep love and companionship that lasted a lifetime.

James leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love, shining brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
