Mr. James Larry “Jimmy” Burns, age 78, of McEwen, Tennessee, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, at his home. Jimmy Burns was born February 11, 1946, in Gorman, Tennessee, to Lonnie David and Georgia Mae Beeles Burns. He was married to Sharon Helen Van Fossan Burns. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Pine Hill Church of the Nazarene in McEwen. Jimmy was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Vulcan Materials. He loved sporting clays and enjoyed being a small engine mechanic. Jimmy loved watching Westerns and being Papaw to his precious granddaughters.

 Visitation: will be Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Friday, August 9, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors. Bro. Denny Boren and Pastor J. T. Blu will be officiating.

Jimmy Burns’ wishes were to be cremated after his service. Interment of cremains will be at a later date, at St. Patrick Cemetery in McEwen, Tennessee.
