James W. "Jimmie" Powell

James W. “Jimmie” Powell Age: 87 Of: Dickson, TN Died: March 22, 2020 at his home. Mr. Powell was born November 4, 1932 in Vanleer, TN. After graduation from high school, Jimmie served his country in the U. S. Army in military intelligence. During that time he married the love of his life, Jane Templeton, from Martin, TN. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a business degree. Jimmie was a restauranteur in Lebanon, TN prior to starting his car dealership in Dickson, TN where he continued to work until his death. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching any sports event on television. He especially loved watching his great grandson play baseball, never having missed a game. He was a member of the Vanleer United Methodist Church. Presently he was attending First Baptist Church in Dickson, TN. Jimmie, Dad, Pop, JimPa, you will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
