Jennie Monroe

Age: 86 Of: McEwen, TN Died: Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Horizon Medical Center. A loving matriarch, former teacher, Sunday school teacher, homemaker, and fabulous baker, Mrs. Monroe was a member of McEwen Church of Christ and an avid Bible reader having read the entire Bible 26 years in a row. Probably the last surviving grandchild of a Civil War veteran in Humphreys County, she was a passionate historian who loved to tell stories of the past. Visitation: will be held from 1 – 7pm Saturday, January 5 at the Humphreys County Funeral Home in Waverly and from 12pm until service time Sunday, January 6 at the McEwen church of Christ. Funeral Services: for Mrs. Monroe will be conducted at 2pm Sunday, January 6 at the McEwen church of Christ with Hoby Grace, Jimmy Tyler and James Suddeath officiating.
