Jess Willard Hays

Mr. Jess Willard Hays, age 87

Of Waverly, TN passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Three Rivers Hospital. He was born June 23, 1937, in Parsons, TN to Edgar and Opal Hays. 

A respected ironworker, Jess devoted 42 years of his life to Local #492, where his skill and commitment made a lasting impact on the profession and those with whom he worked. In addition to his professional achievements, Jess was a devoted member of the Waverly Masonic Lodge since 1972, embodying the principles of fraternity and charity. His involvement in the Masonic community showcased his belief in service to others and the importance of building strong interpersonal connections. Jess honorably served in the National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country and his fellow citizens.

As we remember Jess Hays, we celebrate a life well-lived, characterized by dedication to both his profession and community involvement. His legacy will endure through the values he exemplified and the positive impact he made on those around him.

Mr. Hays’s wishes were to be cremated.
