Joel David Brown

Mr. Joel David Brown, age 58 of Waverly, TN passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. He was born June 30, 1966, in Camden, TN to Fonnie and Evonne Brown. 

Throughout his life, Joel showcased an impressive array of skills and talents earning him the title of “jack of all trades”. Whether he was running his bait shop or trying his hand at plumbing, he embraced the challenge of learning something new with enthusiasm.

Joel's love for nature was evident in his hobbies and interests. He enjoyed spending hours fishing, finding peace and joy by the water. Joel was a compassionate advocate for animals, dedicating his time and energy to supporting the local animal shelter. He also took pride in caring for his chickens at home. 

Joel was a devoted fan of the Tennessee Vols and took great joy in cheering on his team, sharing his passion for college football with family and friends throughout the years.

Known for his outgoing nature, Joel was a social person who never met a stranger. He had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether at social gatherings, community events, or simply while running errands, Joel would always find someone to share a word with.

Joel was known for his playful spirit, particularly in his younger days when he took great delight in pranking his sisters. These humorous escapades created countless cherished memories within the family and showcased his endearing personality. 

As we celebrate his life, we honor the memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of many.

Joel’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service with be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the local animal shelter.
