John Charles "Big John" Gibbs

John Charles “Big John” Gibbs, 85, of Burns, Tennessee went and rested high on that mountain, May 18, 2020. He was born January 7, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Rev. Orville F. and Gertrude M. (Pletcher) Gibbs. Mr. Gibbs served in the United States Army overseas in Korea, was a past Master of the Masonic Lodge in White Bluff, and a past President of the Dickson Shriners Club. He loved playing music, especially his bass. Mr. John was proceeded in death by his brother, Orville Gibbs; Sisters, Lavada MacMurray Koch, Beatrice “Jean” Matthew, Mary Lou Brown, Nancy Hamilton; and his Daughter-in-law, Jamie Gibbs. He is survived by his Wife of 51 years, Sarah Gibbs; Daughters, Judy Wills(Larry), Sue Loftis(Eddie), Sandra Gibbs; Son, John Gibbs; Step-Daughter, Glenda Knapp; Sisters, Hilah Williams(Bernard) of Granville, OH, Carole Skinner of Circleville, OH, Sandra Eccard(Emmitt) of Afton, VA, Jacqueline Gregg(James) of Ashville, OH, Joan Krystof of Circleville, OH, Susan Metzler(Jerry) of Circleville, OH, Trish Purcell of Gahanna, OH, and Elaine Fletcher(Thomas) of Ashville, OH. Mr. Gibbs is also survived by several beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
