Mr. John “Johnny” James, age: 90 Of: New Johnsonville, TN Died: Friday, September 22, 2017 at his home. He was born September 12, 1927 in Humphreys County. Mr. James was a WWII Navy Veteran, member of the Trace Creek Baptist Church, and member of the New Johnsonville Masonic Lodge. He worked for DuPont and retired after 42 years. Mr. James enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting coins and knives. Visitation: will be held from 5:00 – 8:00pm Tuesday, September 26th with Masonic Services conducted at 7:00pm and from 10:00am until service time Wednesday, September 27th at Humphreys County Funeral Home. Funeral Services: for Johnny James will be conducted at 11:00am Wednesday, September 27th in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Warren officiating. Interment: will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery with Military Honors. Survivors: Wife of 70 years: Gladys Hurt James of New Johnsonville, TN Sons: Randy James (Rosita) of Waverly, TN Ralph James (Marie) of South Carolina Ray James (fiancée: Alice Bradley) of Waverly, TN Daughters: Cheryl Boyte (Richard) of Martin, TN Ann Hunter (Bill) of New Johnsonville, TN Brothers: Dana James of Oklahoma Lloyd James of Arkansas Grandchildren: Dale James (Kim), Jesse James (Jenn) John James (Fallon), Luke James (Dusty) Lane Boyte, Leigh Boyte, Sandi Cobia Great Grandchildren: Chase, Zadie, Madelyne Darcy, Annabella, Jaycen Numerous Nieces and Nephews Beloved Dog: Bandit Preceded in death by: Parents: James Coleman James and Mary Ethel Stringer James Brothers: Carl, J.C., Ford, Gene, and Floyd James Sisters: Elsa James and Edna James Grandson: Randall Spencer James In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humphreys County Humane Society, 112 Young Road, Waverly, TN 37185 or to a charity of your choice.
