John D. Lankford

John D. Lankford, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, departed from this world on March 13, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 18, 1934, John's life was rich with purpose and devotion, leaving a legacy that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.

Throughout his life, John demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his work and community. An industrious spirit, he proudly owned Lankford Hardware until the late 1970s, and then extended his talents and dedication to the Carpet Shoppe in Dickson until his well-deserved retirement.

Beyond the responsibilities of his profession, John was a longtime Church of Christ Minister. His deep love for the Lord radiated into every aspect of his life, guiding him to be a figure of support, kindness, and inspiration for many.

John's warmth and generosity extended far beyond the walls of his beloved church and workplaces. He found immense joy in family gatherings, particularly the precious moments spent around the river, where laughter echoed and memories were crafted. Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake brought him peace and contentment.

John D. Lankford was truly a good man—one whose spirit enriched the lives of others. He leaves behind a legacy woven with compassion, faith, and dedication that will continue to inspire future generations. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, reminding us all of the beauty of a life well-lived.

Visitation: will begin on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 4 – 8 PM, and will continue on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 12:00 PM – until time of service.

Funeral Service: will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from the Chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Nicholson officiating.

Private Interment: will follow at Union Cemetery.
