Mr. John Robert Mays, affectionately known as “St. John”, age 81

Of Waverly, TN gained his wings on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. He was born March 19, 1943, to the late Lucas and Delia Mays in Waverly, TN. 

St. John accepted Christ at a young age and attended church faithfully at Salter’s Chapel AME Church. He received his education at Porch Reed School. St. John went to work for J.D. Luten & Company. He later went to work for Bill Collier Reality until his health started failing. After the decline in his health, St. John started working odd and end jobs helping anyone who might need help with something.  

Visitation will be held from 11:00am until service time Saturday, April 20^th at Humphreys County Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services for Mr. St. John will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday, April 20, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Betty Eason officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
