Mrs. Judith Ann “Judy” Hughes, age 75

Of: Waverly, TN passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, TN. She was born August 9, 1947, in Parkersburg, WV.

Mrs. Judy worked as a school teacher 38 years for the Humphreys County Board of Education and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of Wildwood Valley Church of Christ where she served as the church’s treasurer and children’s church teacher. Judy was elected Treasurer of the Holiday Assistance Program and the Friendship Community Home Demonstration Club. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 8:00pm Sunday, February 26^th and from 12:00pm until service time Monday, February 27^th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Judy Hughes will be conducted at 2:00pm Monday, February 27, 2023, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeremy McFarlin officiating.

Interment will follow in Richlawn Cemetery.

   Hope Hawkins of Massillon, OH

   Melva Lee Farris of Parkersburg, WV

Preceded in death by:

Parents: Kenneth Shutts and Alma Lee Link Shutts

Brothers-in-law: Glenn Hawkins, Gary Farris, and Gary Hughes
