Mark Curtis Hinson, a generous soul, a loving grandfather, and a thoughtful friend to many, passed away on August 4th, 2024. Born on September 26th, 1958, in Decatur, Alabama, Mark spent his formative years nurturing the qualities that would define his life; generosity, warmth, thoughtfulness, and a deep-seated faith in Christ.
Mark was a member of the Water Street Church of Christ. His faith was evident in his everyday actions and interactions. He was a living testament to the verse, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)
Professionally, Mark dedicated over 37 years of his life to DuPont. His hard work and dedication were as much a part of DuPont as the bricks and mortar of the facility itself. He was not just an employee, but a trusted and respected member of the DuPont family. His retirement marked the end of an era, but his legacy continues to inspire those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
In his personal life, Mark was an avid outdoorsman, who found great joy in hunting. He cherished the natural world and often shared this passion with his grandchildren, creating memories that they will hold dear. His thoughtful nature was also evident in his unique tradition of gifting silver coins to his grandchildren. Mark's home was made complete by his faithful dog companion, Della, and his love for cooking, especially when it allowed him to bring people together.
In memory of our beloved Mark, we encourage you to leave your memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Each story and picture will serve as a precious reminder of Mark's incredible life. Let us celebrate Mark's life together as we remember a man who truly lived his faith, loved deeply, and was generous beyond measure.
