Martin Ray Buchanan

Mr. Martin Ray Buchanan, age: 64 Of: New Johnsonville, TN Died: Monday, October 4, 2021 at Three Rivers Hospital. He was born September 9, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan. At age 11, the Buchanan family moved to Humphreys County. He was a graduate of Waverly Central High School Class of 1976. Mr. Buchanan worked for the State of Tennessee Department of Corrections and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the Waverly Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and carpentry work. In his later years, he enjoyed making custom knives and spending time with his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Peapaw”. The family’s wishes are for cremation. Graveside Memorial Services for Mr. Buchanan will be conducted at 2:00pm Saturday, October 23, 2021 in J. Warren Cemetery with William Brown officiating. Interment of cremains will follow.
