She was born December 31, 1951 in Columbia, TN.
Known to her loved ones as Miss Paulette. Passed away at her farm peacefully following a lengthy illness. Survived by her life partner of the past 25 years, Richard V. Dorn, Dickson, his children Deborah Dorn Moore, Bethpage, Roderick Dorn, Pleasant View and granddaughter Abigail Dorn, Bethpage.
She was intellectually gifted, earning academic scholarships at Eckard College and Vanderbilt Graduate School where she was also a teaching assistant. She studied Celtic Literature at Kings College in England and spoke Welsh fluently.
Miss Paulette was a syndicated columnist for King Features many years and her “Country Music Memo” was read across America. During her career she worked for NASA, became a paralegal but her great love was teaching literature to Middle School students. Retiring from Springfield Middle School she spent her last several years gardening, sewing, and crafting miniatures. She was an avid Vanderbilt Baseball fan and loved going to the games.
Miss Paulette brought light and joy into the world and left it a better place. She requested cremation and her ashes to be returned to her farm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.
Visitation for Miss Paulette will be held from 4-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Spann Funeral Home in Dickson, TN..
