Mary Ann Miller

Mary Ann Miller Age: 81 passed peacefully from this life on Monday, April 2, 2018 at NHC Healthcare in Dickson, TN. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she embodied a kind and gentle spirit that was evident to all who met her. Despite several ailments that troubled her throughout her life, she was poised with strength, dignity and a compassionate heart. What she lacked physically, she more than made up for with benevolence, determination, and tenacity Mary was born August 31, 1936 in Dickson County to Clyde Ridley and Odie Lane Etheridge. She would marry the love of her life, John L. Miller, Sr. on April 3, 1954; a marriage that would span six decades. Together the would raise 5 children around the globe in Tennessee, California, North Carolina, and Germany. She faithfully cared for and nurtured her growing family while her husband valiantly served his country. It is no secret that it was her endless love, courage and support that bound their family together, in good times and bad. In her later years, Mary enthusiastically welcomed nine grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She reveled in their childhood and thrived as an excellent cook, mentor, advocate, and defender. A member of First Baptist Church for nearly 40 years, Mary was a strong woman of faith who led by Christian example. Her simple yet sweet demeanor won the trust and hearts of many. Her tenderness and love are deeply woven in the fabric of everyone she has impacted over the years. Her absence will surely influence those left behind, but where her roots run deep, memories will grow forever. Her family would like to thank her loving and devoted caregivers at NHC in Dickson as well as the supportive staff at Caris Hospice. Your attentiveness and generosity have meant so much. Visitation: 3-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Services: for Mrs. Mary Miller will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday April 5, 2018 from the chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Bratton officiating.
