MaryAnn Henard passed away of natural causes on June 19, 2022. MaryAnn was born April 17, 1938 in San Francisco to the late William Patrick Doherty and Geneva Margaret “Nelly” Weigman Doherty. She attended High School in San Bernadino, California and after graduation took art and business courses at Palomar College in San Diego County. She worked as an executive assistant and court reporter for many years. She married Gary Henard and lived in Loma Linda, California, and eventually moved to Waverly, Tennessee, in 1980, where they raised their 4 children. MaryAnn loved animals and raised Appaloosa horses, rabbits & chickens. Over the years she had many pets. Memorable ones included Sugar-a white poodle she would dye its hair different colors to match her outfits, Carrie a Blue Tick Coon Hound, Mustgo a Great Dane/Lab mix and Oliver a Himalayan cat. She loved Gardening-everything from flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees. She was an accomplished artist that worked with several different mediums, including paint, charcoal, stained glass, cake decorating, ceramics, needlepoint and sewing. She was an Excellent Cook and made almost everything from scratch. She had an extensive cookbook collection and liked to experiment and try her new recipes out on her family and friends. She liked Sports Cars and owned a white 1964 Corvette Stingray and red MG convertible. She enjoyed Dancing, Roller Skating, Music, Movies (she was a big Elvis fan), Drive-In Restaurants and the Beach. She was a member of the Waverly Women’s Club. She was a very Passionate, Strong willed, determined woman. She would find the best qualities in everyone and only had kind words. Her proudest achievement was her family. It was a life well lived. MaryAnn was married to Gary Henard for 27 years and has 4 kids and 11 grandkids. Hayley Henard Reagin, Mark Reagin, Noah, Noelle, Collin, Carly Zach Henard and sons Aiden & Baker Leslie Henard Leon, Gerard Leon sons Lucas, Benjamin, Nicolas, Samuel Chris Henard and daughter Caroline Henard Mary Ann is survived by her sister Nancy Jean Cross. Nieces- Andrea Cross Simomo, Elizabeth Kemp Bowen, Christina Kemp Forks, Cynthia Kemp Davis, Janice Kay Henard, Misty Henard, Cathy Mahan Middleton, Rhonda Dailey & Linda Faye Mahan Davis Nephews-Tony Lee Kemp, Terry Lynn Kemp, Ricky Kemp, Robert Kemp, Jason Shane Cross, Gregory Scott Doherty, Wayne Henard, Tracy Henard, Kevin Henard, Eddie Mahan, & David Mahan She was preceded in death by siblings, Sylvia Phyliss Doherty Kemp, Malcolm Bristol Doherty, Ruth Doherty, Patrick Warren Doherty, along with her nephews Trever William Cross and Lance David Cross, and her nieces Emily Kemp Rickett and Peggy Lee Doherty. Visitation and Shared Memories Service will be held at Humphreys County Funeral Home, Waverly, Tennessee on Saturday, June 25, 2022, 3:00 pm until time of service at 5:00 PM. Casual Attire Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Humphreys County Funeral Home (931) 296-5955
