Matriel "Lindy" Traughber

Matriel "Lindy" Traughber, born on October 09, 1958, left this world on September 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and warmth that touched the lives of many. Lindy was not just a name; she was a beacon of kindness, a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, an adoring grandmother, a great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.

Lindy's passion for life was vividly expressed in her love for yard work. Her flowers were a reflection of her spirit—a beautiful tapestry of colors, meticulously adorned with blossoms, especially her cherished roses. The joy she found in tending to her flowers spoke volumes about her nurturing nature. Neighbors often marveled at her vibrant yard, which always seemed to echo the love and care she poured into every petal.

Beyond her green thumb, Lindy was a dedicated cheerleading coach for little league teams, where she shared her enthusiasm and spirit with countless young girls, instilling in them confidence and joy. Her hard work and selflessness made a lasting impact on the lives she touched. Every cheer, every chant, and every smile echoed the love she radiated.

An accomplished archery enthusiast, Lindy proudly won the North American Bow Hunting Women's Championship, showcasing her determination and prowess in a sport that brought her immense joy. She faced every challenge with a bright smile and a heart full of determination, reminding everyone around her of the power of perseverance.

A devout Southern Baptist, Lindy's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and lived her life in a way that reflected her beliefs. Her gentle spirit and unwavering faith inspired those around her, weaving a fabric of love and grace within her family and community.

Lindy leaves behind a legacy of friendships deeply rooted in genuine connections. She was a great friend, always there to lend a listening ear or share a laugh, making every gathering feel special. Her spirit of camaraderie and love for others will be sorely missed.

In remembering Matriel "Lindy" Traughber, we celebrate a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to uplifting those around her, who found joy in nurturing both her garden and her family. Her warmth will continue to flourish in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

At her request there are no arrangements planned at this time; her ashes will be scattered at the Blue Ridge Mountains at a later date.
