Muriel Clyde Hooks, of Burns, Tennessee, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, was born on July 10, 1931, in the quaint town of Chicora, Florida. She peacefully departed this world on December 20, 2024, at NHC Dickson in Tennessee, surrounded by the warmth of love that she cultivated throughout her remarkable life.
Muriel was a vibrant spirit, whose zest for life was evident in everything she did. A proud charter member of East Chelsa Baptist Church, she devoted her time and energy to her faith community, sharing her kindness and warmth with all who crossed her path. Her love extended into the kitchen, where she delighted family and friends with her cooking, filling their hearts and homes with the comforting aromas of her favorite dishes.
Beyond her culinary skills, fishing was one of her favorite pastimes, where she found serenity and joy by the water's edge. Additionally, Muriel thoroughly enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together.
Professionally, Muriel dedicated ten years to Library Processing within the Hillsboro County School system, where her love of learning and education shone brightly. She touched the lives of many students and colleagues with her unwavering commitment to nurturing knowledge and fostering a love of reading.
