Nancy Rosamond Porch Floyd

Nancy Rosamond Porch Floyd, 94, died peacefully in her daughter’s home on May 10, 2017, in Orlando, Florida. Mrs. Floyd is survived by her daughters, Michele Floyd McNerney (Gerry), of Orlando, Florida, and Marian Floyd of Waverly TN. She is survived by three grand-daughters and two great-grand sons. Nancy was also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Floyd is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Floyd, her parents, Davis Scott Porch Sr. and Katharine Harris Porch both of Waverly, Tennessee. She is also preceded in death by her brother Davis Scott Porch Jr. (Marie Stone Porch) and her sister Sara Joyce Porch Wagster (David) of McEwen, Tennessee. Nancy was born on January 6, 1923, in Waverly, Tennessee. She graduated from Waverly Central High School in 1940. In 1953, she moved with her husband, Carl, to Pittsburgh, PA. They remained there until 1979. Following her husband’s death, she moved back to Waverly to care for her ailing mother. Nancy worked in the same Doctor’s office for more than 30 years before returning to Waverly. She was a lifelong member of the church of Christ and attended the Waverly church of Christ. She was an active member in the DAR (Daughters of The American Revolution), and enjoyed working in her yard and helping people. Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved her neighbors and her church family. Her family and friends will always remember her as a giving and caring person. Visitation will begin at 10 AM followed by the funeral at 12:00 PM. The services are scheduled for Saturday on May 13, 2017 at The Humphreys County Funeral Home with internment at Wyly Cemetery. Jeff Keel, of the Waverly church of Christ will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nancy’s life. The family would like to thank everyone for your prayers and support.
