Mrs. Nan Mae Heard Eddleman, age 92, of New Johnsonville, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Humphreys County Care and Rehab. She was born February 23, 1932, in Hustburg, TN to Willie Elmer Heard and Ola Spencer Heard. She had fond memories of her childhood surrounded by her large family and farming peanuts. She grew up in the post-Depression era, that caused her to value everything. Supreme among her attributes was her love for family, that we will cherish and carry all our lives.
Nan was a friend to the residents in the nursing homes, visiting them regularly with words of comfort and small gifts. She could be described as a hardworking, beautiful, resilient, frugal, caring lady that wasn’t afraid to speak her mind.
Her family was very dear to her. She put much of her time and effort in raising her four children and grandchildren and helping to ensure their salvation. She could be hard on her children and grandchildren, holding them to high standards but each could depend on her to be the first to their side when sick or distressed. They knew that she would not cease to pray and worry over them.
Nan’s Christian faith with life changing salvation began in 1985. That faith grew and affected many and is still impacting generations today. We will ever be grateful for her enduring love, her generosity, her honesty, her strength of character, her dignity, and legacy of faith that lives on in each of us.
“We do not sorrow as those that have no hope, our hope is in the Lord” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
We will see her beautiful face when we too are gathered unto the Lord.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00pm Wednesday, September 18th and from 11:00am until service time Thursday, September 19th at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
