Odia Sylvis, aged 90, passed away on April 30, 2021 in Springfield Tennessee, due to covid. He was born in Dickson, Tennessee on July 23, 1931.
Odia Served in the Korean War from February 1946 to July 1948. He retired from Chrysler with 35 years of service.
He was an avid reader, music lover, follower of the Atlanta Braves and loved to play poker with his family.
Odia had a great sense of humor and had a great heart. He was loved by all who knew him. He was proceeded in death by his wife Dorothy, In 2010. He is survived by his daughters, Wanda Spudic, Patricia Buck, and Brenda Cathey. Grandsons Andrew, Michael, and Nathan Shaw. Granddaughters Melissa Thompson, Courtney Buck, and Tonya Corey. Sisters Janice Davison, Treva Jones, Sharon Reeves. Brother Bobby Sylvis and many nieces and nephews.
Family graveside services will be on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Dickson County Memorial Gardens in Burns, Tennessee. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
