Robert "Bob" Leonard Jackson, born on September 20, 1941, in the welcoming town of Charlotte, Tennessee, was a man of strong character, dedicated to his work, loyal to his family, and a loving figure in the community. His life was a testament to courage, resilience, and the power of a generous heart. Bob was a man who loved life and embraced every opportunity to serve, inspire, and uplift others. He cherished his family, the adventures of traveling, and the simple pleasures of farming and foraging, but above all, he loved God and his community.

A committed worker, Bob retired from the Ford Glass Plant in Nashville after 41 years of diligent service. He was also a proud and dedicated member of the Tennessee National Guard, serving for nearly 39 years before retiring as a 1st Sergeant. In addition to his military service his unwavering loyalty was manifested in his 50-year tenure as an elected Constable in Dickson County. His dedication did not stop there. After his retirement, Bob served with Truett and Cumberland Baptist Association Disaster Relief for 20 years. He also coordinated and managed several missions, including an Air Force One detail, local parades, and a detail for the Vietnam Wall replica visit to the VFW in Dickson, TN. His commitment was recognized nationally as he was a lifetime member of both the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of Tennessee (EANGTN) and the Enlisted Association of the United States (EANGUS).

Bob was a man of faith, a constant pillar in his community, and a 35-year member of Sylvia Baptist Church. His love for God was evident in the way he lived his life and served others. As stated in Psalm 132:9 (NIV), "May your priests be clothed with your righteousness; may your faithful people sing for joy." Bob embodied this verse, displaying righteousness in his every action and inspiring joy in those around him.

His love for the American flag was a reflection of his deep patriotism, and his passion for farming, growing tobacco, and gardening was a testament to his love for the earth and his community. An avid arrowhead collector, morel mushroom hunter, and blackberry picker, Bob's spirit of adventure and curiosity never waned.

His passing on August 18, 2024, leaves a void that will be felt by all who knew and loved him. Yet, his memory will continue to inspire, for Bob Jackson was truly a man whose life was a testament to dedication, loyalty, love, and courage.

Please share your favorite memories and photos of Bob on his memorial page. Your thoughts and cherished moments will help us all remember the wonderful life of this extraordinary man.
