Joyce Churchill Baker, 82, passed peacefully on April 13, 2019, surrounded by family.
Joyce was a life long Dickson resident & member of the Walnut St Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late Boyce and Gladys Churchill. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a successful business owner of the House of Brides where she helped numerous kids with their prom dresses and tuxedos. Also, she helped many ladies with their weddings providing wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, tuxedos and catering service. She was very popular in Dickson for her wedding cakes, birthday cakes and cakes for any occasion.
She had a real talent in the kitchen where her family enjoyed her cooking and the grandkids loved her grilled cheese sandwiches and milkshakes. She loved to cook for people and take people food when they were sick or in need. She had a love for Christmas where she made every Christmas special for family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband (sweetheart) of 16 years Jack Baker; Children: Angela Armstrong (Dan), Teresa Fetzer, Dr. Brent Fetzer (Gwen), Leslie Williams (Joe); grandchildren: Mistie Loy, Mallorie Bradshaw (Jack), Sidney Elsea (Jason), Courtney Ruane, Molly Jo Williams, Zachary Fetzer; great grandchildren: Gracie, Gage, Grayson, Declan, Peighton, JP, Layla and Ella Quinn; her sister Martha Ann Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents Boyce, and Gladys (Murrell) Churchill; as well as her brother-in-law Don Henderson.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 4 – 8 PM; and will continue on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 11:00 AM – until the time of services at Spann Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from the Chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Baggett.
Burial will follow at Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
