Mr. Thomas “Tom” Gore, Jr., age 94
Of: McEwen, TN passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at his home. He was born October 11, 1929, in Paris, TN.
Tom was a man whose life was defined by dedication, hard work, and love for his family and community. Throughout his remarkable life, Tom wore many hats - from owning and operating various businesses to serving as a plant manager and working as a heavy equipment operator for Union Local 181 for an impressive 70 years. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence shone through in everything he did.
A Navy Veteran, Tom served his country with honor and pride, embodying the values of loyalty and service. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom will be remembered for his genuine love for people, a trait that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Among his many joys in life were spending time with his beloved grandchildren, whom he cherished beyond measure. He was also known for being a devoted and protective husband, always putting the needs of his family first.
In his leisure time, Tom found solace in simple pleasures - whether it was exploring flea markets, tinkering in his workshop, or lending a helping hand by fixing handles on old tools for those in need. His willingness to lend a hand and share his skills reflected the kind-hearted nature that defined him.
Tom's proudest accomplishments extended beyond the professional realm; he was an active member of the Open Bible Assembly Church and dedicated 19 years of service to the Planning and Zoning Board of Directors in McEwen. Additionally, he served as a respected Senior Citizen Board Member in the community, leaving a lasting impact on all those he encountered.
