Mr. Tyree Darnell Burns, age 32
Of Waverly, TN passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born January 19, 1992, in Nashville, TN to Charles Morgan and Rosie Burns.
A graduate of Waverly Central High School, Class of 2010, Tyree embodied the values of perseverance and determination throughout his life. He embraced the hospitality industry and became a Desk Clerk at Holiday Inn in 2021. In this role, he was known for his warm demeanor and unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service to guests.
Tyree developed a keen interest in fixing anything that came his way, particularly electronics. His inquisitive nature and hands-on capability were admired by friends and family who often sought his assistance, knowing that his patience and problem-solving skills were unparalleled. A true lover of music, Tyree found solace and inspiration in the soulful sounds of Bob Marley. He was also an avid supporter of the Tennessee Vols.
Tyree loved donning his cowboy hat and boots, which became a signature part of his endearing personality. He also possessed a deep appreciation for music, often found strumming his guitar, filling the air with melodies that resonated with both joy and reflection. His connection to the open road was evident as he frequently enjoyed riding the back roads in his new Audi Convertible, savoring the freedom that came with every turn.
Tyree’s true joy was in the moments spent with his beloved children, cherishing every adventure they shared together. He embraced activities such as camping and canoeing, where the laughter and bonds formed during these outings created lasting memories. Family movie nights were another highlight for Tyree, serving as cherished gatherings.
Tyree was a member of the Hollow Rock Church of Christ. On July 24, 2022, he took a significant step in his spiritual journey when he was baptized by his beloved uncle, Tony Burns, Sr. This moment was not only a profound personal milestone but also a testament to the strong bonds of family and faith that defined his life.
Tyree was a registered organ donor, reflecting his profound commitment to helping others even beyond his lifetime. He stated that “if something was to ever happen to me and I died, I want to donate my good organs so someone else can live”.
As we remember Tyree, let us honor his legacy by embracing the values he exemplified: compassion, generosity, and the tenacious spirit to make a difference in the lives of others. He will be deeply missed but forever celebrated in the hearts of those who loved him.
