Ms. Wanda Jean Galbreath Mourningfawn, age 67

 

Of McEwen, TN, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at her home. She was born September 3, 1957, in Wyandotte, Michigan to Norman and Minnie Galbreath.

 

Wanda dedicated a significant portion of her career to public service, initially working as an administrative assistant for the State of Tennessee. Her journey continued at the Tennessee Department of Transportation, where she dedicated 13 years of her professional life, contributing to the betterment of her community through her diligent work.

 

Beyond her professional achievements, Wanda was known for her warm personality and her commitment to service. Her involvement in service work reflected her kind-hearted nature and a deep-seated desire to uplift those around her. She was also a regular at the Dickson Senior Citizens Center, where she made lasting friendships. 

 

Wanda took immense pride in her heritage as a member of the Cherokee Indian Tribe, a fact that not only enhanced her sense of identity but also enriched the lives of those she encountered. She embodied the values of her culture through her actions, showing respect and love for her community.

 

As we remember Wanda, we celebrate a life characterized by dedication, kindness, and a commitment to service that will not be forgotten. Her legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of many.

 

Graveside Services for Ms. Mourningfawn will be conducted at 1:00pm Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Bro. Garrett Parker officiating.

 

Interment will follow.
